9:30AM Breakfast was the same. They had watermelon for breakfast. Love the bananas. The coffee, on the other hand, tastes like dirt. Lol.
10:00AM I worked on reviewing my friend, Estefi's personal statement on the computer at the hostel. All of a sudden Sam and I noticed a flash on the electrical wires next to our window. We walked towards the widow and then the line fell off and the computer blew a fuse! It was crazy. They are still working on the computer now. Thank goodness they have wifi now.
11:30AM We took a bus to the Center and also to see Pelhourino.
12:00PM We walked towards Palació Rio Branco, one of the oldest palaces in Brazil. We saw some of the history behind Brazil inside then a tour guide approached us. We wanted to think about it and just walked around the palace museum for a bit.
12:30PM Sam and I got hungry so we went to a "por kilo" place. They are very popular in Brazil. Basically you pay by the kilo on how much food you get. I got a decent meal only for about $6 US.
1:30PM We then met with our guide, Irá. He showed us around for about an hour and half. We saw many churches and learned a little more about the history of Bahia. It was a little expensive for me,
given that it was just a walking tour of a small area. Nevertheless, the it was nice to hear a little bit more about what each building was and etc. It cost about $R 40 or $20 US per person. It helps with tourism in Brazil... So it's fine.
I generally like to walk and learn about things on my own... Irá also only spoke a little bit of Spanish, so I didn't understand what he was saying. I zoned out a couple of times while he was talking just to admire all of the beautiful architecture.
We went into a couple of stores and saw a Michael Jackson video. It was really cool.
Michael danced to olodum and they even have this large picture of him in this same balcony!
3:45PM We then at sat a café for a bit to drink coffee and rest. We also had wifi so that was nice.
4:30PM I wanted to take a photo with a Bahiana, the ladies with the beautiful white dresses. There was one drinking coco in front of the cafe, but then she left. We went back out to find her. But then we found one near a shop. I asked her if I could take a selfie... She told me to go in the store first. Lol. I felt obligated to buy something, so I got a post card.
5:00PM We took a bus back to the hostel. It was a nice ride. We had seats and we got off on the right stop.
5:30PM Laundry should be done! NOT...Oi. Because of the power outage laundry would be finished tomorrow... That stinks... I was looking forward to sleeping in my comfy shorts and t-shirt.
Walking across the street is a challenge... It's so busy and we have to wait until it is clear.
6:30PM Blogging. I spent the next hour updating my blog. :)
