Tuesday 7/29 LOVE SALVADOR

JLet me just start by saying that I LOVE SALVADOR so far. First impressions mean a lot and everyone I have met here have been so nice.

5:30 AM Shower, prepare my backpack and get ready for Salvador and Manaus.

6:30 AM Leave Adalberto´s to take the omnibus for the airport. We decided to take the van instead since it was only $R 6 compared to  $R 12 on the omni bus.

7:30AM We then arrived at the airport and confirmed our flights. Check in was fee... Which is awesome. Although we had to check in our large backpacks. During the TSA checkpoint we didn't even have to take off or shoes.

8:00AM Sam and I ate a chicken empanada and cafe com leite.

9:00AM We boarded the plane and it was only a short 2 hour flight. They had good snacks!

11:10AM We arrived in SSA Salvador airport and after getting our backpacks we spoke to the tourism desk. The lady was really nice. She called different hostels for us. We settled on El Misti since it was the cheapest! Only $R 22.00 or $11 a night!

We then took the red bus to our hostel location. It was about 40 minutes driving on the coast until we arrived near the area where our hostel was. We got dropped off and Sam navigated where to go. We found our awesome hostel and then checked in.

2:00PM Rafael, Pedro and Fabiana greeted us with smiles. They are the hostel staff. Rafael took us to our rooms and it was pretty awesome! Not a lot of people so we shared a 13 room place with only 3 other people.

Pretty nice right?
Bathrooms are awesome too. They even give out stickers Lol!

3:00PM We were starving... So Sam and I walked to the sushi place and it was CLOSED! So we settled for an amazing restaurant that served local foods from Bahia. We ate acarajé and abará! We also had 3skols and yummy shrimp soup. This has been such a treat.
The lady helping us was sooooo nice! She was her sassy lol.

We then bought bug spray. That's one thing I wish I brought. The deet concentration is not that great here lol.

5:00PM I passed out.... And I woke up to a new roommate. I think his name is Carlos, he's a dentist that works far away and stays at a hostel because it's cheap probably.

7:00PM We needed to charge our sfuff so we went to buy a charger... But it doesn't work -.- I hope they will exchange it.

We then ate sushi! $10 for 20 pieces. It was yummy. We also had coco water. For desert we had tapioca with condensed milk! It is amazing. My favorite!!!! We also had cafe com leite. Gina as Lou are more awesome people that work in the place with tapioca. Funny thing while asking for the check, the first restaurant thought i wanted more skol... And then the last one I said "Cuenta" and Gina was like huh?! Lol. I think it's Cunta...?! Lol I don't know. Then another customer joked to Gina, can I have the Cuenta please...

9:00PM we returned to the hostel and just worked on some things on the Internet and other things... I don't like typing on this computer...
So I reverted to typing on my iPhone again Lol.

I'm excited about seeing turtles! There is a turtle bay!

Love Salvador! The people are so warm...
