Sábado 7/26

10:00AM Shopping in Saara* where las cosas son mas barato( cheaper stuff). I enjoyed shopping in the area. I bought needed a small bag to carry around my wallet and other items. Then I got some havaianas for only $R 10 or $5 :). I also got a piña scarf for only $R 10 and a par of brincas ( earrings) for $R 5.

12:00PM Next we went to the Feira do São Cristavão. There was live music and lots of food. We ate at a little restaurant in the Feira. There was so much food! We had a lot of forofa, fried yucca, rice with beans, all types of meat and drank juice from fruits of brazil, cupuaçu and cirulina*.

3:00PM Next we headed off to the Museu Hístorico Nacional. We saw the remains of some of the early inhabitants of Brasil. I really enjoyed learning more about the history of the African culture in Brazil.

5:30PM Then we took the bus to Central to rest for a little bit.

8:00PM Noite do Carioca (Carioca is a term for local people from Rio)
We took a taxi to Lapa and commenced our night with cariocas :). We danced some samba at a bar that had live music.  We ended our night eating podrão. It was like a mini heart attack in one burger thing. Lol.
